LUCKNOW, Sept. 30 -- A 28-year-old man was taken into custody after a woman advocate alleged that he repeatedly followed her in a car and asked her to get inside while she was walking from Polytechnic towards Kamta on September 26, police said on Tuesday. According to the complaint, the woman was walking along the road around 7 pm when the driver of a white car allegedly began following her. She alleged that the man repeatedly brought the car alongside her, stopped and asked her to get in, saying he would drop her wherever she was going. Despite her refusal and attempts to ignore him, the driver allegedly continued following her, leaving her frightened, according to the complaint. "Ghazipur Police registered an FIR on September 27 under Sections 78(2), 79 and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against the unidentified driver," said SHO RK Maurya. "Given the nature of the complaint, police began tracing the vehicle and its driver. Investigators identified the registered owner and alleged driver as Mohd Talib, 28, a resident of Rasoolpur Sadat under Indiranagar police," the SHO added.
