Meerut, Sept. 20 -- A 38-year-old tailor was allegedly strangled to death by his wife and her alleged boyfriend after he caught the duo together, with police saying the accused later carried his body in a sack on a motorcycle and dumped it in a ravine around 4km from his home in Bareilly district. The incident took place in the Bhuta police station area. Police arrested the deceased's wife, Nargis, and her alleged boyfriend, Raja alias Riyaz, 35, in connection with the murder. The body of the deceased, identified as Pappu, was recovered on Friday based on information provided by Raja, police said. According to police, Raja used to visit Nargis when Pappu was away from home. Pappu allegedly caught the two together on September 10, following which he assaulted his wife after learning about their relationship. Police said that on the night of September 10, Raja was hiding inside Pappu's house when the latter returned from work. Nargis allegedly caught hold of her husband's legs while Raja tightened a rope around his neck. Pappu died at the spot, police said. Raja allegedly then put Pappu's body in a sack, carried it on a motorcycle and dumped it in a ravine near a brick kiln in the Mirzapur area, around 4km from the house. The case came to light after Nargis went to the police station on September 15 along with Raja and lodged a missing-person complaint for her husband. Police subsequently began investigating the disappearance. On September 16, Nargis returned to the police station and submitted another complaint, this time accusing Raja of murdering Pappu. Police called Raja for questioning on September 17, during which he allegedly disclosed his involvement in the murder, investigators said. Deputy superintendent of police Sandeep Singh said Raja admitted during police questioning that he killed Pappu over his relationship with Nargis. The body was recovered on the basis of his disclosure, he said. Police on Friday arrested both Nargis and Raja and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the murder....
