Man's wife and brother held for murder; police allege affair led to crime
AGRA, June 20 -- Agra police have arrested a man's wife and his younger brother for allegedly conspiring to murder him after an investigation into an unidentified body found within the Sadar police station area on Wednesday.
Deputy commissioner of police (city) Syed Ali Abbas said the victim, identified as Sonu, had left home for work on Wednesday and was later found dead with severe injuries to his face. A case was registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and police formed teams to investigate the murder.
During the probe, officers examined CCTV footage and arrested Sonu's brother, Bhola, and his wife. Police also recovered a cloth stole allegedly used to strangle the victim.
Investigators found that Bhola and Sonu's wife were allegedly in a relationship even before her marriage to Sonu four months ago.
Police claimed the relationship continued after the marriage and that the pair conspired to eliminate Sonu.
According to police, Bhola allegedly attacked his brother with stones, causing serious facial injuries, before strangling him and dumping the body.
Officials said both accused attempted to mislead investigators.
Bhola allegedly tried to divert suspicion towards a co-worker of the victim, while Sonu's wife allegedly staged a suicide attempt to portray herself as a grieving spouse. Both accused individuals have been arrested and further investigation is underway....
