Man kills two kids, self; note blames wife, her 'affair'
LUCKNOW, March 9 -- A 40-year-old man allegedly killed his two minor children (4 and 3 years old) and later died by suicide at their rented house in Maharajganj district on Sunday morning, leaving behind a note accusing his wife-an employee of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB)-and an alleged acquaintance of driving him to the act, police said.
The incident occurred around 7 am in the Gandhi Nagar area of Nautanwa town, where the family was living on rent.
According to police, the man allegedly hanged his four-year-old son and three-year-old daughter with a rope tied to a window before hanging himself from a ceiling hook inside the room. His wife is posted as a fourth-class employee with the 66th battalion of the SSB at Nautanwa along the Indo-Nepal border.
Police said neighbours living on the ground floor heard the children screaming in the morning and suspected something was wrong. When they went upstairs, they found the door locked from inside. After getting no response, they called the wife, who was on duty at the time.
When she returned and the door was broken open, the family members and neighbours were shocked to see the bodies of the two children hanging from the window, while the man's body was found hanging inside the room. Personnel of the SSB and local police soon reached the spot and began an investigation. Investigators said the man had written a note on the wall of the room before dying, alleging that his wife was in contact with another man and blaming both of them for the deaths. Police also said that he had reportedly recorded a video message and sent it to his brother-in-law before taking the extreme step. The family originally belongs to Saidpur area of Ghazipur district.
Maharajganj superintendent of police (ASP), Siddharth said the case appears to be linked to domestic discord, though all angles are being examined. "The deceased left a note and also reportedly sent a video message to a relative. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. Further action will be taken after the report," the officer said....
