PRAYAGRAJ, Oct. 9 -- A man was killed on Thursday morning when a beam collapsed at the Prayagraj Municipal Corporation's (PMC) Khuldabad Zonal Office. The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Khurshid, a resident of JK Ashiyana in Kareli. Khurshid had reportedly visited the office for land record-related work when the structural failure occurred inside the older section of the building. He sustained critical injuries and succumbed to them around 10:30 am. The incident triggered panic within the office, and several rooms sustained damage. Municipal Corporation and police officials arrived at the scene shortly after to conduct relief and rescue operations. The Khuldabad Zonal Office handles various civic matters, including land records, property mutation, and the collection of house and water taxes. The accident occurred during ongoing renovation work at the facility, a project for which the government has already released Rs.4.71 crore, out of an estimated total cost of Rs.9 crore....
