Varanasi, June 30 -- A 38-year-old man died and his 17-year-old daughter sustained injuries after lightning struck them in Sonbhadra district on Monday, police said. The incident took place in Dagdaua village under Babhni police station limits when Gambhira and his daughter, Seema, were thatching the roof of their house. Police said lightning struck them during a thunderstorm. Gambhira died on the spot, while Seema suffered severe burn injuries. Family members and villagers rushed Seema to the Community Health Centre in Babhni. After first aid, she was referred to the district hospital in Sonbhadra, where she is undergoing treatment.
