man held in Rs.3.20-cr cyber fraud
Dehradun, Aug. 28 -- The cyber crime team of the special task force (STF) has arrested a resident from Kolkata in connection with an alleged Rs.3.20 crore cyber fraud in which fraudsters allegedly impersonated a senior company official or managing director on WhatsApp and coaxed the company's general manager to transfer money to multiple bank accounts.
The accused has been identified as Chandra Kant Mishra, a resident of Green Field City in Maheshtala, Kolkata, West Bengal. Ajai Singh, senior superintendent of police (STF), said a case was registered at the cyber crime police station, Dehradun.
Police recovered two mobile phones, four SIM cards and a laptop from his possession. Probe allegedly revealed editable documents on several companies, bank loan applications of several people.
