Dehradun, July 7 -- A 32-year-old man was arrested for allegedly shooting his 63-year-old mother following an argument at their home in Rishikesh, police said on Monday. The accused, identified as Sumit Gaur, allegedly fired at his mother, Usha Devi Gaur, with a 12-bore country-made firearm after the two had a heated argument at their residence near a temple in alley number 3, A Block, Pashulok Visthapit area under the Rishikesh Kotwali limits. The shot struck the woman on her forehead, leaving her seriously injured. JS Rawat, SSI Rishikesh police station, said, "The accused himself took his mother to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rishikesh for treatment.
