Man held for shooting at dhaba owner: Cops
Haridwar, Sept. 3 -- A 22-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly opening fire on an eatery owner in Kaliyar in Haridwar district on August 24, police said. The accused was identified as Vishu Saini, a resident of Gummawala in Piran Kaliyar. Investigators said he allegedly opened fire with a country-made pistol on Suhaib, the owner of Tyagi Dhaba near Bedupur Chowk, around midnight on August 24. Suhaib was sitting at the eatery when the incident took place.According to police, Saini was arrested on Khadar Road following investigation and digital surveillance.
"During interrogation, the accused confessed to firing at the eatery owner with an intention to kill him. The accused had an altercation with the victim last month over the payment of a food bill," said Kaliyar police station in-charge Kamal Mohan Bhandari.
