Haridwar, Aug. 19 -- A groom was booked for allegedly opening fire in the air at his own wedding at Kankhal after a clip of the incident was widely shared online, police said on Tuesday. The accused was identified as Sultanpur resident Yogesh Kumar. The incident took place on July 26 at Vatika Farm on Laksar Road, said police, adding that the clip brought it to their notice. "Through social media platforms, we saw the viral clip. After verifying the incident with the wedding venue, we traced the accused, who is from Sultanpur. A case was registered against him under the Arms Act. The probe is underway," said Circle Officer (City) Shishupal Singh Negi. Police added that the firing was carried out using a licensed firearm and they were likely to recommend cancellation of the licence.htc...
