Man gets 10 years in jail for kidnapping, trafficking four-yr-old
AGRA, July 15 -- An Agra court has sentenced a man to 10 years' imprisonment for kidnapping and trafficking a four-year-old girl from the Tajganj area in 2025.
Additional district and sessions judge Lokesh Kumar (Court No. 19) convicted Shoib Suleman, a resident of Aurangabad in Maharashtra, under Sections 137(2) (kidnapping), 140(3) (kidnapping for wrongful confinement) and 143(4) (human trafficking) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The case was registered at Tajganj police station on October 15, 2025, after the girl's father reported that she had gone missing while playing.
Police said the accused lured the child away from the locality and kidnapped her.
Though Suleman was not named in the FIR, CCTV footage showed him taking the child with him.
He was later arrested in Delhi by Delhi Police after his mobile phone was traced, and the girl was rescued safely.
The court found the accused guilty on July 8, and pronounced the sentence on Monday....
