Man ends life after allegedly beating sister-in-law to death in Mirzapur
VARANASI, July 14 -- A man allegedly beat his elder brother's wife to death following an argument in Tenduhni Belha village under Lalganj police station in Mirzapur on Sunday evening. His body was found the next day, with police suspecting that he died by suicide.
According to police, Sangeeta ,26, wife of Nanku, was at home when an argument broke out with her brother-in-law, Chhotelal alias Kallatar, over an issue.
The verbal dispute soon turned violent, and Chhotelal allegedly assaulted Sangeeta, who died on the spot. He fled the scene after the incident.
On receiving the information, Lalganj station house officer Ved Prakash Pandey reached the spot with a police team.
The police inspected the scene, collected evidence and sent the body for post-mortem examination.
Acting on a complaint lodged by the deceased's brother, Sandeep, police registered a murder case against the accused and formed teams to raid suspected hideouts to arrest him.
On Monday, police received information that the accused's body had been found. Preliminary investigation suggests that he died by suicide.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
Police said further legal action will be taken on the basis of the post-mortem reports and other evidence. Both cases are being investigated simultaneously....
