LUCKNOW, Oct. 4 -- A 26-year-old man was arrested for allegedly killing his friend by electrocuting him while he was unconscious after heavy drinking, and stealing Rs.2,250 from him, in Bijnor police station area, police said on Saturday. "Bijnor police arrested Birju, 26, in connection with the murder of Sachin alias Raja alias Ramdheeraj," said ADCP South Vasanth Rallapalli. Police said Birju allegedly gave Sachin an electric shock while he was unconscious after drinking and later stole Rs.2,250 from him. According to the ADCP, Sachin needed money and had pledged his motorcycle on September 28 to raise funds. The two friends allegedly used some of the money to buy alcohol and continued drinking at Birju's room, where he lived alone. Sachin became heavily intoxicated and fell unconscious. Police said Birju allegedly then decided to kill him and take the remaining money from his pocket. Police said Birju allegedly used an electric wire to shock Sachin, killing him. He then allegedly took the remaining cash and left the body near another person's house to mislead investigators.
