Man dies in road crash; family alleges foul play
PRAYAGRAJ, July 20 -- A 36-year-old ration dealer died after his motorcycle reportedly collided with stray cattle near Shukulpur under Maheshganj police station in Pratapgarh late on Saturday night. While police described it as a road accident, the deceased's family alleged that the circumstances of his death were suspicious.
The deceased, Rajendra Kumar Yadav alias Rajan, a resident of Pariyawan village, was returning home from Rajapur on his motorcycle. According to information given to police by his sister, Santoshi Devi, Rajendra was accompanied by Sadhu, a resident of Sansaripur.
The family was told that cattle suddenly came onto the road near Shukulpur, causing the motorcycle to go out of control and hit the animals. Rajendra fell and suffered serious injuries.
After receiving information from Sadhu, family members reached the spot and took Rajendra to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Maheshganj, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Santoshi Devi questioned the accident theory and alleged that her brother's death might not have been accidental. After the post-mortem examination on Sunday, family members again raised their suspicions before police when the body was brought home....
