Man dies, five hurt after car falls into canal
PRAYAGRAJ, July 23 -- A 55-year-old man lost his life and five others were injured after a car carrying a family plunged into the Sharda Sahayak Canal near the Ganga Expressway in the Holagarh police station area in Prayagraj on Wednesday morning. The deceased has been identified as Tulsiram Prajapati, a resident of Maidhara village under the Baghrai police station limits of Pratapgarh district.
According to police, Tulsiram was being taken to Kanpur for medical treatment by his family members when the accident occurred at around 6am. The vehicle was going on the service road of the Ganga Expressway near Paschim Nara village when the driver allegedly lost control, causing the car to veer off the road and plunge into the canal.
All six occupants were rescued and taken out of the vehicle, but Tulsiram succumbed to his injuries.
Holagarh SHO Virendra Mishra said a report concerning the death has been registered and the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination....
