Meerut, Sept. 28 -- Police have arrested a man in Moradabad for allegedly using abusive and objectionable language against chief minister Yogi Adityanath in a video that surfaced on social media and subsequently went viral, officials said on Sunday. The accused, identified as Surjeet, was arrested within 24 hours of a case being registered against him, superintendent of police (rural) Kunwar Akash Singh said. Bilari Kotwali station in-charge Uday Pratap said a complaint was filed by Rajeev Kumar after the video surfaced on social media. In the video, a person allegedly made offensive remarks directed at the chief minister. According to police, the video led to resentment among people and allegations that it hurt religious sentiments, citing Yogi Adityanath's position as the chief minister as well as his association with a religious institution. The case was registered under Sections 353 (statements conducing to public mischief) and 352 (intentional insult intended to provoke breach of peace) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, police said.htc...
