Man arrested, jailed for sexually abusing daughters
PRAYAGRAJ, March 19 -- A man was sent to jail on Wednesday after being accused of sexually abusing his daughters for the past three years and brutally assaulting them when they resisted. The incident has been reported from the trans-Yamuna area of Manda in Prayagraj district.
Based on a daughter's complaint and her statement recorded in front of a magistrate, the police registered a case and sent the accused to court, which remanded him to judicial custody, officials said.
According to reports, four daughters from a village in the Manda police station area, along with their mother, approached the police on Sunday to report long-term sexual abuse and harassment by their father.
The father, who works as a security officer in Bengaluru, reportedly visits the village for two months each year, during which he allegedly physically abuses the entire family and sexually assaults his daughters, excluding the youngest.
The family consists of five daughters and two sons, with the sons living elsewhere and the daughters residing in the village with their mother, grandfather, and grandmother.
Initially, the police were sceptical about the claims. However, when the accused was brought to the police station, he admitted his wrongdoing in front of the SHO and promised not to repeat such actions. The police took the accused into custody, registered a case under relevant sections, and then arrested him.
The police then sent one of the victims for a magistrate-recorded statement at the Prayagraj district court on Monday and for a medical examination on Tuesday.
