PRAYAGRAJ, June 7 -- The digital management system developed for Mahakumbh-2025 in Prayagraj has been selected for a Gold Award under the National e-Governance Awards 2026. The recognition highlights the successful use of technology in managing one of the world's largest religious gatherings. The project, implemented by the Prayagraj Mela Authority, is among 17 initiatives from across the country chosen for honours under different categories of the awards announced by the department of administrative reforms and public grievances, government of India. According to officials, a range of digital tools was used during Mahakumbh-2025 to manage pilgrim movement, strengthen security, regulate traffic and provide real-time public services. Surveillance systems and digital platforms also helped authorities in crowd management and administrative coordination.
