LUCKNOW, Sept. 28 -- Lucknow's Sonali Singh and Ritika Thaker of Maharashtra were crowned women's doubles champions at the Kampala International 2026, at the Lugogo Indoor Stadium in Kampala, Uganda on Sunday. The Indian pair defeated fellow countrywomen Ishita Negi and Akshita Manral in a straight-games victory in the summit clash, winning 21-16, 21-17 to lift the title. Seventh seeds Arsh and Saurav Sahu stormed into the men's doubles final of the All-India Senior Ranking Badminton Tournament with straight games upset over the top-seeded defending champions, at the UPBA Academy here on Sunday. Uttar Pradesh's Arsh while pairing with Chhattisgarh's Sahu beat Maharashtra's Viplav Kuwale and Viraj Kuwale 15-13, 17-15 to reach the title clash. The new-look duo showed sharp coordination, mixing precise placement with quick serves to keep the Kuwale brothers under pressure. With the first game locked at 13-13, they took two straight points to edge ahead and close it out. The second game went down to the wire; at 15-15, Arsh and Sahu again won two consecutive points to seal the match. They will face Karnataka's Sumit AR and Arya T in Monday's final. Sumit and Arya, who came through the qualifiers, beat Odisha's Abhinash Mohanty and Ayush Patnaik 15-8, 15-10 in the other semi-final.
