LUCKNOW, Sept. 4 -- Back-to-back spells of heavy rain have exposed the poor condition of several city roads, with potholes appearing on key stretches, including some newly constructed or repaired roads. In several places, the damage has spread across entire sections, making commuting difficult. A Hindustan Times visit to multiple locations found major potholes on roads soon after the rainfall. Near Gate No 6 of Janeshwar Mishra Park, close to an underpass, several portions of the road had developed deep potholes. The damaged patches forced commuters to slow down and manoeuvre around the craters, increasing the risk of accidents. The Gokhale Marg stretch near a private school also showed extensive damage. A sizeable section of the road had developed potholes following the heavy rain, inconveniencing residents and daily commuters. Residents in Sector B of LDA Colony on Kanpur Road also faced similar problems, with potholes appearing at multiple points on the road. Similar conditions of roads were witnessed in the Sushant Golf City locality where the entire stretches parallel to Shaheed Path had been found to be broken. Additional municipal commissioner Abhinav Ranjan Srivastava said that the civic body would repair the potholes immediately after the rainfall stops. Meanwhile, the water works department has repaired a 24-inch water supply pipeline behind Vidhan Bhawan after repeated complaints of leakage. Officials took up the repair after residents reported continuous water leakage from the pipeline. The repair work has now been completed, bringing an end to the leakage at the spot....
