LUCKNOW, May 14 -- The Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport (CCSIA), Lucknow, conducted a large-scale foreign object debris (FOD) walk with over 80 stakeholders on Wednesday to improve airside safety and reduce operational risks. FOD refers to any loose material or object on runways, taxiways or aprons that may threaten aircraft safety during take-off, landing or ground operations. During the drive, participants inspected designated operational areas, removed visible debris and reviewed safety protocols linked to ground handling and aircraft movement zones. The exercise focused on reinforcing awareness that maintaining a clean airside is a shared operational responsibility rather than a single-agency task. It also acted as a refresher on aviation safety practices in high-traffic operational areas.
