LUCKNOW, Sept. 22 -- In a first, Lucknow University has developed its own fully in-house Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) for Pre-PhD course work scholars. The 8-week, 16-module, 2-credit course, 'Ethics First: Excellence in Research and Responsible Publishing,' will focus on research integrity, academic honesty, plagiarism prevention, publication ethics, and the responsible use of AI tools in research. The course will be available in both Hindi and English. Vice-chancellor prof JP Saini said the course aims to train researchers in the highest ethical standards for data collection, analysis and reporting. "It will also familiarise scholars with the authentic process of publishing in reputed global journals like UGC-CARE, Scopus and Web of Science. In today's digital and AI-driven era, maintaining originality, purity and ethical values alongside research quality is the biggest need. This first fully developed MOOC will connect young researchers with values of academic integrity, quality and responsibility from the initial stage," said Saini. The university added that this is a landmark step towards expansion of digital education and in line with NEP 2020. "Teachers from various departments are also developing quality MOOCs in their subjects which will be launched in coming phases, creating a rich series of digital courses by subject experts for campus and affiliated college students," Saini added....
