LMC ropes in RWAs for Census 2027 outreach
LUCKNOW, May 26 -- The Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) stepped up preparations for Census 2027 and brought Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) into the planning process to strengthen public participation and awareness across the city.
The civic body held a meeting at the Smart City office in Lalbagh on Monday under the chairmanship of Abhinav Ranjan Srivastava, additional municipal commissioner and city census officer.
Representatives from several residential associations and housing societies across Lucknow participated in the discussion. Officials from societies in Gomti Nagar, Vrindavan Yojana, Indira Nagar, Ashiana, Jankipuram, SGPGI and other localities attended the meeting.
During the interaction, civic officials clarified doubts regarding the census process, data collection procedures, citizens' responsibilities and administrative arrangements. Officials explained the preparations being made for the large-scale exercise and stressed the need for community participation.
Abhinav Ranjan Srivastava said RWAs would play an important role in ensuring the successful implementation of Census 2027. He said the civic body aims to conduct the process in a transparent and systematic manner with support from all stakeholders....
