Lucknow, Oct. 20 -- The state government has zeroed in on the sprawling Vrindavan IT City for the ambitious AI City project, after much deliberation and high-level consultation. The pre-feasibility report prepared for AI City establishment has assessed key aspects like land selection, project concept, development structure and benchmarking on the basis of similar projects in India and abroad. Based on this report, the Vrindavan IT City has been identified as the most suitable site for the proposed AI City-cum-Business Park, said the state government on Monday. According to the state government, to develop strategic collaborations and encourage establishment of AI-based companies, proposals were invited from national and international stakeholders. Against expression of interest (EOI) issued on July 26, 2025, more than 25 proposals have been received. This initiative is considered important in terms of showing interest of potential partners and developing opportunities for AI-based business activities, added the government. Under the process of setting up Project Management Unit (PMU) for preparing the plan, development framework and attracting investment for AI City-cum-Business Park, a transaction advisor and consultancy firm have been appointed. Consultant for advisory services related to establishment of AI City has also been selected through tender process. As per prescribed instructions, the consultant has to make a final decision regarding land and take forward the process of linking master developer to project within one year from date of appointment. The objective of the government's initiative is to create a conducive environment for development of AI-based industries in the state. With the project taking shape, new opportunities can develop for tech companies, innovation-based enterprises and investors in Lucknow. At same time, skill, research and employment possibilities related to AI and digital technology are also expected to get a boost.
