LUCKNOW, April 14 -- The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) on Monday sealed a commercial lawn at an alleged illegal construction in Khargapur locality of Gomti Nagar Extension. Zone 1 enforcement teams sealed the premises after finding violations of UP Town Planning and Development Act, 1973, said officials. The order named Rohit Kurich and others in connection with the property, stated an official order by the agency. HT has access to the document. The action came after directions from competent authority Vipin Kumar Shivhare, According to officials, the illegal construction was identified at Khargapur Road in Kaushalpuri. The authority had earlier issued a show-cause notice under Section 27 and a stop-work notice under Section 28 of the Act, directing the parties to halt construction activities. Despite repeated warnings, the builder allegedly continued construction. Enforcement teams attempted to stop the work with departmental support, but the accused report- edly resumed construction during night hours to evade action. Taking serious note of the continued violations, Shivhare invoked Section 28(a) and ordered immediate sealing of the structure along with its associated facilities. The property is linked to Nutan Thakur, wife of former IPS officer Amitabh Thakur. When HT contacted them, the latter said the land belongs to his wife and had been le- ased to Rohit Kurich, who was operating a lawn on the premises. He said the plot measures around 2,500 sq m and added that he came to know about the LDA action through media reports....
