LUCKNOW, July 8 -- An all-round performance by Kushagra Mishra helped Yorker Cricket Club (YCC) win Jasnir Singh Memorial Under-19 Tournament, defeating Kalpana Cricket Foundation (KCF) by five wickets, at the Sage Cricket Ground here on Tuesday. Mishra, who first took a wicket to restrict KCF for 226/7 in 35 overs, later smashed 84-ball 106 with the help of 12 boundaries and a four sixes as YCC romped home with nine balls to spare. He was well supported by Devansh Kumar Singh (40, 48b, 3x4) and Aditya Kumar Singh (35*, 31b, 1x4, 3x6). Akash Gupta took 2/30 for KCF. Earlier KCF after being sent to bat first, scored 226/7 in 35 overs. Opener Ansh Singh struck 71 in 61 balls with the help of seven boundaries and four sixes, whereas Dravya Kumar Kushwaha made 69 in 61 balls with the help of three fours and five sixes. Shivam Yadav remained the most successful bowler for YCC, bagging 3/39, whereas Jainuddin bagged 2/35. Adarsh Verma (SMR) 521 runs was later named best batter, whereas Waris Ali with 31 wickets was adjudged best bowler. Shashwat Yadav (best fielder), Alok Kr Yadav (best wicketkeeper) were also awarded, whereas Kushagra Mishra, who stroked 422 runs and bagged 15 wickets, was named man-of-the-tournament. Trials to select the Lucknow district basketball teams of boys and girls will be held on July 9, at the Modern School here in Aliganj. The selected teams will participate in the 24th Youth Uttar Pradesh State Basketball Championship-2026, scheduled to be played at the Galgotias University, Greater Noida, from July 22 to 28, 2026. Players born on or after January 1, 2010, are only eligible to participate in the selection trials.
