Lakhimpur Kheri, Sept. 18 -- Kheri senior superintendent of police (SSP) Khyati Garg suspended five police cops of Dhaurahra kotwali on Monday with immediate effect. The suspension took place for laxity on the part of head constables Vinod Kumar and Ashok Tiwari, constables Mohit, Bharat Sharma and Vishal in the preliminary investigation into Sisaiya Khurd village incident on September 14, Kheri police said. Additional SP, East, Pawan Kumar Gautam, was assigned to investigate the matter. On Sep 13, a group of Sisaiya Khurd villagers had staged a protest against heavy water-logging in their village and poor condition of roads. The villagers had raised slogans against the Dhaurahra BJP MLA Vinod Shankar Awasthi and the village head.
