KGMU welcomes MBBS and BDS batches with White Coat Ceremony
LUCKNOW, Oct. 7 -- King George's Medical University (KGMU) on Tuesday held the induction and White Coat Ceremony for its newly admitted MBBS and BDS students at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Scientific Convention Centre.
Vice-chancellor Prof Soniya Nityanand urged the students to view medicine as more than a degree, stressing the importance of discipline, dedication, ethics and compassion.
She said sensitivity towards patients and a strong sense of duty were essential qualities of a good doctor.
Dean Dr Virendra Atam welcomed the students and briefed them about KGMU's academic activities, curriculum and disciplinary expectations.
The newly admitted students subsequently took the Maharshi Charak Shapath, pledging to uphold the dignity of the medical and dental professions and discharge their duties with integrity.
Pro-vice-chancellor Dr Anju Agrawal, chief proctor Dr RAS Kushwaha, dean of Student Welfare Dr Rashmi Kushwaha and acting dean of Dental Sciences Dr Nand Lal and Dr Saurabh Kashyap of the department of Community Medicine were among those present. Parents also attended the ceremony.htc...
