LUCKNOW, Sept. 27 -- King George's Medical University (KGMU) vice-chancellor Prof Soniya Nityanand on Friday suspended an order transferring nine non-teaching employees with immediate effect and asked them to continue working at their previous places of posting until further orders. The VC's order said the decision was taken in reference to a letter sent to the KGMU registrar on August 24. The registrar later issued the transfer order of nine medical university staff. KGMU spokesperson Prof KK Singh said prior approval from the VC was required for employee transfers, but the prescribed protocol was not followed. "Transfers made without the VC's permission are not considered valid," he added.
