KGMU Teachers' Assn to discuss delay in FIR
LUCKNOW, April 6 -- The KGMU Teachers' Association (KGMUTA) has convened a meeting on Monday (April 6) to deliberate on the alleged inaction by police in registering an FIR in connection with a parking dispute allegedly involving a doctor on April 1 and subsequent protests on April 4.
According to Prof KK Singh, president KGMUTA, a formal complaint had been submitted against the son of a former Uttar Pradesh minister on April 4.
Prof Singh stated that if the FIR is not lodged by Monday, the association will issue an official notice to the police following the meeting. The association has announced a protest march on Tuesday if inaction continues.
"If the FIR is still not registered even after the protest, we will be left with no option but to go on strike from the following day," Singh said.
On April 1, a patient visited the OPD for a post-surgery follow-up. After consultation, attendants were retrieving their vehicle when a senior doctor, reportedly heading to the trauma centre, asked them to move it immediately, leading to a heated exchange that allegedly escalated into a physical confrontation.
On April 4, a large number of people, including the son of the former minister, gathered near gate no 2. They demanded action against the doctor and attempted to burn an effigy of the vice chancellor. Later, the university administration intervened and brought the situation under control....
