LUCKNOW, July 22 -- King George's Medical University (KGMU) on Tuesday inaugurated a revamped 24x7 Hospital Revolving Fund (HRF) pharmacy at the Lari Cardiology OPD, expanding its daily patient handling capacity from 150-200 to nearly 800-1,000 patients. The upgraded pharmacy has been set up to ensure cardiac patients can access affordable medicines at the point of care, eliminating the need to travel to other HRF stores on the campus. The facility will operate round the clock and support digital payment modes, including UPI and debit/credit cards, according to a press release issued by the university. KGMU vice-chancellor, Prof Soniya Nityanand said the new facility would improve patient convenience by ensuring timely access to affordable medicines close to the treatment area. HRF chairman Prof Kumar Shantanu said the expanded pharmacy was a long-pending requirement at the busy Lari Cardiology OPD and would substantially reduce waiting time and inconvenience for patients by increasing the facility's capacity to serve up to 1,000 people daily.htc...
