Bahraich, June 15 -- An international journalists' conference was organised in Bahraich on Sunday to mark 200 years of Hindi journalism. Hosted by the District Accredited Journalists' Association, the event drew journalists from across Uttar Pradesh and neighbouring Nepal. Speakers highlighted the role of ethical and independent journalism in a democracy. Payagpur MLA Subhash Tripathi described journalists as the mirror of society, while Bahraich MP Anand Gaur assured support for demands including a Press Club and restoration of railway concessions for journalists.
