JHANSI, Aug. 11 -- A deworming campaign targeting more than 10 lakh children and adolescents aged one to below 19 years began in Jhansi on Monday, with district magistrate Gaurang Rathi launching the drive at The New Era Public School. Rathi administered the medicine to girl students and directed officials to ensure complete coverage through schools and designated centres. Mobile teams will also visit stone-crushing units, construction sites and nomadic settlements to reach children there. The National Deworming Day is conducted across all states and Union territories in two rounds every year, with the first round on February 10 and the second on August 10. Schools, colleges and madrasas, including institutions affiliated with ICSE, ISC, CBSE and the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, have been asked to participate.
