Jewellery worth Rs 10L stolen on Kashi Express
PRAYAGRAJ, March 1 -- A woman passenger's bag containing jewellery worth Rs 10 lakh was stolen aboard the Kashi Express. She lodged a complaint with the Mau GRP, following which the case was transferred to Prayagraj on Saturday, as the theft occurred within its jurisdiction. The Prayagraj GRP will now investigate the incident.
According to the complaint, Ajit Singh, a resident of Mau, had come to see off his daughter, Shreya Singh, who lives in Thane. While returning to Mau by train on February 26, he was allotted a seat in the A1 coach. When the train reached Prayagraj Junction around 7.40 am on February 27, he noticed that his bag was missing and immediately informed the control room.
After reaching Mau, he filed a theft report with the GRP. The FIR states that the missing bag contained valuable jewellery, including bracelets and a diamond studded gold necklace set. Prayagraj GRP Inspector AK Singh said the case has been transferred and further action will be taken following investigation....
