LUCKNOW, Sept. 24 -- A two-member Japanese delegation visited the Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute (KSSSCI) on Wednesday to explore a proposed proton therapy facility. The project is being discussed as part of a proposed collaboration between the governments of Uttar Pradesh and Japan. The delegation, comprising Bato and Yuji, toured various departments and reviewed the institute's cancer treatment and diagnostic infrastructure, including advanced medical equipment and patient-care facilities. Proton therapy is an advanced radiation treatment that uses proton beams to target tumours with greater precision. The proposed facility could add a specialised treatment option to KSSSCI's existing cancer-care infrastructure.
