Prayagraj, May 13 -- Police arrested the main accused in the murder of ITI student Himanshu Saroj after an encounter near the Durgapur canal bridge under Holagarh police station limits late on Monday night. The accused, Sahil Yadav, suffered a bullet injury in his leg during an exchange of fire and was admitted to hospital. Police recovered a country-made pistol, a live cartridge, a spent shell and a motorcycle from him. Police said Himanshu, 19, was shot dead on May 10 near a canal bridge in Todipura after being called there by the accused. A case was registered following a complaint by his mother, Reena Devi. Deputy commissioner of Police Kuldeep Singh Gunawat said the accused confessed during questioning and claimed the murder was linked to an old dispute over a motorcycle collision. Police are searching for two other absconding accused. Police have registered two cyber fraud cases involving a total loss of Rs.4.34 lakh. In the first case, Balendra Kumar Singh alleged that Rs.2.37 lakh was withdrawn from his Bank of Baroda account through four unauthorised UPI transactions. In another incident, Rajesh Kumar Singh claimed that Rs.1.96 lakh was transferred from his account after he gave his mobile phone for repair at a shop in Indira Bhawan.
