MEERUT, July 6 -- A social media influencer has been booked in Sambhal district for allegedly honey-trapping a man, recording his intimate photos and videos, and extorting money by threatening to make the material public and implicate him in a false molestation case. The accused, identified as Arisha, a resident of Deepa Sarai in Sambhal, along with two named associates and several unidentified people, has been booked on charges of blackmail and extortion based on a complaint filed by a 22-year-old local resident. Police registered an FIR at Sambhal Kotwali police station at 2:55 am on Saturday and have launched an investigation in the matter. According to the complainant, Shahrukh (22), a resident of Chaudhary Sarai who runs a fast-food outlet, he first met Arisha during a trip to Nainital about three years ago. They remained in regular contact and gradually developed a close relationship, during which Shahrukh alleged that Arisha secretly recorded his intimate photos and videos. Shahrukh alleged that he later discovered Arisha was part of a racket that allegedly lured young men into relationships, recorded compromising photos and videos, and blackmailed them for money with the help of her associates.
