Influencer booked for 'objectionable' posts
Dehradun, April 11 -- Social media influencer Urmila Sanawar has been booked for allegedly posting "objectionable" content against former district panchayat member Aarti Gaur on social media, police said on Friday.
An FIR was registered under Section 67 (publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form) of the Information Technology Act and Sections 78 (stalking) and 79 (insulting the modesty of a woman) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Nehru Colony police station late on Thursday.
In her complaint, Gaur alleged that Sanawar, a resident of Saharanpur, had been continuously posting indecent and objectionable content against her through a Facebook account named "Actress Urmila Suresh Rathore".
"She is deliberately trying to malign my political and social image.
She has also incited people by posting provocative content, including calls to reach my residence and take unlawful action," Gaur said.
Gaur further alleged that Sanawar made her personal mobile number public on social media, following which she has been receiving threatening calls from unknown persons.
Sub-inspector Manoj Nautiyal said, "We have registered the FIR and the matter is under probe."...
