Improved law and order, infra attracting investors to UP: Pathak
LUCKNOW, July 18 -- Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak on Friday said improvements in law and order and infrastructure over the past few years have made Uttar Pradesh an attractive destination for industrial investment.
Addressing the Uttar Pradesh Industrial Conclave 2026 organised by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) in Lucknow, Pathak said a strong law and order situation, improved connectivity and reliable power supply were key drivers of the state's economic growth.
He said Uttar Pradesh's expanding expressway network and infrastructure had enhanced the business environment, attracting increased investments from domestic and global companies. Referring to the UP Investors Summit, he said the state had received investment commitments worth several lakh crore rupees, with many projects already under implementation.
Pathak said the state's revenue had increased and reiterated the government's target of making Uttar Pradesh a $1-trillion economy. He also claimed that organised crime had been brought under control, boosting investor confidence.
The conclave was attended by senior government officials, industry representatives and business leaders, including Uttar Pradesh State Transformation Commission chief executive officer Manoj Kumar Singh, Uttar Pradesh State Development Council co-chair Vineet Nandyata, and representatives of Radico Khaitan and Ashok Leyland....
