IIT-Roorkee to audit Ardh Kumbh infra projects amid Oppn charges
Haridwar, Nov. 6 -- The Mela administration has enlisted experts from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee to conduct technical quality assessments of permanent construction projects underway for next year's Ardh Kumbh Mela.

The decision follows allegations by Opposition leaders regarding technical design flaws and the use of sub-standard materials in the CCR-2 building construction.
"No compromise is being made on the quality of Kumbh-related projects. From third-party audits to evaluations by IIT Roorkee experts, regular safety and quality assessments are being conducted. Dismissing the charges, BJP Haridwar district president Ashutosh Sharma accused the Congress of making baseless claims to derail development.
"Congress leaders have no evidence to back their claims. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is personally monitoring progress. Haridwar is benefitting from four new bridges, extensive ghat expansions, upgraded sewer lines, new power stations, and expanded railway facilities. Residents and visitors can see the progress firsthand," the BJP leader said....
