IIIT-A marks 28th Foundation Day
PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 13 -- The Indian Institute of Information Technology-Allahabad (IIIT-A) celebrated its 28th Foundation Day at its Jhalwa campus on Wednesday, with the institute's director announcing that the occasion would henceforth be observed as a Recognition Day to acknowledge its achievements.
Addressing faculty members, staff, students, alumni and guests, IIIT-A director Prof Mukul Sharad Sutaone stated that the institute had undertaken several major research projects, outreach programmes, and academic and technological initiatives during the past three years, strengthening its position as a leading institution in information technology and related fields.
Sutaone urged the Gen Z generation to give equal importance to human values and ethics alongside technological advancement.
Senior professor Shekhar Verma traced the institute's 28-year journey, highlighting its evolution, major milestones, and contributions to education, research and technological development.
Prof BK Agarwal, a retired professor of physics at the University of Allahabad, encouraged students to remain curious throughout their academic and professional lives.
The event was also attended by N Subramanian, director of the Society for Electronic Transactions and Security (SETS), Chennai, as the guest of honour. He spoke on the emerging innovation ecosystem and the rapidly changing landscape of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity in 6G networks....
