IIA blames outsiders for Noida violence, seeks preventive measures
Lucknow, April 17 -- The Indian Industries Association (IIA) has expressed concern over recent incidents of violence in the industrial zones of Noida and Greater Noida (NCR) and urged the state government to intervene to prevent their recurrence.
The IIA has also pointed out that unauthorised and anti-social elements' attempts to influence workers, disrupt industrial activities and spread misleading information have been observed.
Dinesh Goyal, national president of IIA, alleged outsiders tried to disrupt the working atmosphere in industrial zones of Noida and Greater Noida.
According to the IIA, outsiders attempted to organise unauthorised gatherings within industrial units, pressured workers to leave their workplaces and created an atmosphere of fear and instability.
This not only poses a threat to the safety of innocent workers-particularly women workers-but could also adversely impact the smooth functioning of industries and public safety, it said.
The IIA has expressed apprehension that such activities may be instigated by external negative influences or by agitational patterns observed in the past, with the objective of undermining industrial peace and damaging the state's positive industrial image.
According to the IIA, a large female workforce is employed in textile units in Noida Sectors 62, 63, 64 and 65.
Safety of these female workers is a matter of concern for us, said Goyal.
IIA has requested following steps: Immediate security arrangements and police vigilance must be ensured in industrial areas; dissemination of misleading information and rumors must be curbed; eEffective control must be exercised over unauthorised activities and gatherings within industrial areas; coordinated efforts must be undertaken to maintain balance and trust between industries and the workforce....
