Lucknow, June 26 -- Seventeen of the hottest cities in the country, on Thursday, were in Uttar Pradesh. And if that is not hot enough for you, then read the list: the first seven cities on it also belonged to UP. Prayagraj was hottest in the country at 43degC, Sultanpur was just fractionally short at 42.9degC, it was 7.5 degrees above normal. Agra sweated at 42.6degC, Lakhimpur Kheri braved 42.4degC, Ballia and Fatehpur recorded maximum temperatures of 42.3degC. Varanasi BHU stood seventh at 42.2degC, data released by the India Meteorological Department read. On Thursday, the maximum and minimum temperatures in Lucknow were 39.9 and 30deg C, respectively. The forecast for Lucknow is mainly clear sky. The maximum and minimum temperature will be around 41 & 30deg C,respectively. The state forecast is that the weather will most likely remain dry over West UP and rain/thundershowers are likely at isolated places over the East UP....
