History-sheeter, 12 others booked for threatening Prayagraj judicial officer
PRAYAGRAJ, July 28 -- A case has been registered against a named accused, allegedly claimed history-sheeter by police, and 12 others unidentified people for reportedly barging into the divisional commissioner's office and threatening additional commissioner (Judicial) Jaijeet Kaur.
The accused has been identified as Pawan Kumar Vishwakarma. According to the complaint lodged by the Additional Commissioner (Judicial), the incident took place on the morning of July 17. Pawan allegedly arrived at the office with several associates and tried to pressure the officer into passing a favourable order in a case pending before her.
When informed that the case would be decided strictly on its merits and in accordance with the law, the accused allegedly flew into a rage. He allegedly abused the officer, behaved aggressively, and threatened to kill her.
The complaint further alleges that Pawan and his associates created a ruckus inside the office premises and raised slogans, triggering chaos and disrupting official work.
Based on the complaint, Colonelganj police have registered an FIR against Pawan Kumar Vishwakarma and 12 unidentified persons under the relevant sections of the law. Police said they are collecting evidence and have initiated further legal action against the accused.
Police investigations have revealed that Pawan has a criminal record. Officials said action was taken against him under the Goonda Control Act in 2022. He has also been named in cases involving the sale of adulterated liquor, assault, and criminal intimidation. Further proceedings are being pursued on the basis of evidence collected during the investigation, police added....
