Mussoorie, July 23 -- The state continued to reel under heavy rainfall on Wednesday as a fresh wave of landslides blocked several key roads and pilgrim routes, incincluding the Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri highways, officials said. Meanwile, the Meteorological Centre in Dehradun has issued a four-day weather warning for the state from July 23 to 26, forecasting heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and lightning in several districts. Heavy rain is likely at isolated places in Dehradun, Bageshwar, Chamoli and Pithoragarh on July 23. The wet spell is expected to extend to Rudraprayag and Nainital on July 24 and Tehri on July 25. On July 26, heavy showers have been forecast at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Dehradun and Pithoragarh. Officials said a debris accumulated after a landslide at around 6am blocked the Kedarnath pedestrian route near Chhaudi in Rudraprayag district. Officials said authorities temporarily suspended the yatra and stopped pilgrims at safe locations along the route. PWD assistant engineer in Kedarnath Sachin Panwar said the foot pilgrimage resumed after the debris was removed. The Badrinath National Highway was also affected by heavy rainfall and repeated landslides. Traffic was disrupted at stretches near Bhanerpani and Gulabkoti after boulders and large quantities of mud debris fell onto the road. In Uttarkashi, incessant rain triggered a series of landslides at several locations on the Yamunotri and Gangotri national highways, disrupting traffic and prompting the authorities to mobilise emergency teams....
