Heatwave may intensify, relief only after Thursday
JAIPUR, May 25 -- Rajasthan is bracing for an intense spell of heat over the next few days, with the Meteorological Department forecasting a sharp rise in temperatures and severe heatwave conditions in several parts of the state, though relief is likely after May 28, officials said.
On Sunday, Sri Ganganagar recorded the highest maximum temperature in Rajasthan at 46 degrees Celsius, followed by 45 degrees Celsius in Alwar. Temperatures were also recorded at 44.9 degrees Celsius in Churu, 44.8 degrees Celsius in Bikaner, Phalodi and Kota, 44.3 degrees Celsius in Barmer, 44 degrees Celsius in Jaisalmer, and 43.6 degrees Celsius in Jaipur.
