Heartfulness Inst, UP Braj Teerth Parishad sign MoU for Braj eco-restoration
LUCKNOW, July 21 -- Heartfulness Institute and the Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad (UPBTVP), a statutory body constituted under the Uttar Pradesh Braj Niyojan Aur Vikas Board (Sanshodhan) Adhiniyam, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Mathura to jointly undertake eco-rejuvenation, heritage conservation, biodiversity enhancement, yoga, meditation and community development projects across Mathura and Vrindavan.
The two organisations will jointly explore, develop, and implement suitable projects from time to time, said a press statement issued on Monday.
Inspired by the vision of Revered Daaji, Guide of Heartfulness and President of Shri Ram Chandra Mission, the partnership aims to restore the timeless glory of Braj through the Vraj Vaibhav Abhiyan.
As part of the initiative, at least 10 historic sacred ponds, including Govind Kund, Gandharv Kund and Surabhi Kund, will be cleaned and restored. Radha Kund, Milan Kund and other water bodies are also being rejuvenated through bioremediation, sewage treatment and ghat repairs with support from ISKCON and the Tata Group.
The project also includes development of a 7-km eco-friendly Inner Parikrama Path with dedicated lanes for pedestrians and devotees performing full-body prostration circumambulation.
Other initiatives include afforestation across 60 hectares around Govardhan Hill using irrigation and rain-gun sprinkler systems, restoration of ancient forests such as Kamail Karhala, and development of an eight-acre nursery at Sunrakh in Vrindavan to cultivate native plant species, the press statement stated....
