HC holds 6am hearing, grants exam relief
LUCKNOW, June 29 -- The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court on Sunday granted interim permission to a candidate to appear in the main examination of assistant prosecution officer (APO) after hearing the matter at 6 am.
In the interest of justice, Justice Amitabh Kumar Rai passed the order at his residence after hearing the petition of Shalini Pandey during the ongoing summer vacation. The main examination of APO was scheduled to start at 9 am the same day.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the court granted the petitioner permission to appear at any examination centre in Lucknow.
The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission had denied the candidate permission to appear in the main examination solely on the ground that she had not submitted a hard copy of her application form. The court directed the commission to file a reply (affidavit) in the matter within three weeks and scheduled the next hearing for July 29....
