HC asks petitioner to identify converts getting dual benefits
Dehradun, May 19 -- Uttarakhand High Court on Monday directed the petitioner in a public interest litigation (PIL) alleging misuse of government schemes benefits by religious converts in Pithoragarh district to file an impleadment application within two weeks.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Manoj Kumar Gupta, and Justice Subhash Upadhyay issued the direction while hearing the PIL filed by Darshan Lal, a resident of Pithoragarh. The bench asked the petitioner to identify the specific individuals who have allegedly converted from Hinduism to Christianity and are continuing to draw dual benefits under government schemes. The court directed that such individuals be made parties to the petition by filing an impleadment application within two weeks....
