Greater Noida power demand hits record 896 MW
Lucknow, May 30 -- Claiming to have met record summer power demand without any disruption, Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL) said electricity consumption in Greater Noida touched an all-time high of 896 MW on May 25 this year, surpassing last year's peak of 832 MW recorded on June 12, 2025. In a statement issued on Tuesday, NPCL attributed the uninterrupted supply to extensive infrastructure augmentation, including transformer upgrades, commissioning of new substations and addition of feeders across its licensed area. The company said it upgraded four power transformers from 12.5 MVA to 16 MVA at Site-B and Ecotech-6 and also enhanced three transformers in Alpha-1, Gamma-1 and Sector-37 to 12.5 MVA capacity. NPCL further claimed to have commissioned two new 12.5 MVA substations this month at Sector-16B and Site-5, while two more substations at Ecotech-3 and Site-4 are slated to become operational by May 30. The company said it had energised seven new 11 kV feeders and deployed 34 monitoring teams, 24 maintenance teams and 10 engineers for round-the-clock operations during peak summer demand....
